Happy Pride San Diego!

As an LGBTQ-owned business, Avenir is proud to be a part of the community this week and every other week of the year. We feel lucky to be able to serve other LGBTQ-owned businesses by bringing our full authentic selves to every project we work on. In honor of pride, we wanted to reminisce on the many events and partnerships that have brought us closer to our San Diego LGBTQ community. We are grateful to have been involved with so many wonderful community-based companies, organizations and nonprofits and are excited to share our achievements with you!

Front Runners & Walkers of San Diego

If you have ever gotten active with Front Runners and Walkers of San Diego, you may have seen our work. Since 2018, Avenir has had the honor of promoting Front Runners and Walkers annual 5K pride run, an event which is integral to San Diego Pride. This running club not only keeps people active, but builds connections within the San Diego LGBTQ community. Working on this project has allowed us to utilize our brand of creativity to its fullest potential, making it one of our most rewarding projects to date. Seeing the funds Front Runners & Walkers raises at work in our community makes all of the hard work worthwhile and we could not be more proud of what we have accomplished together.

Gen5 Fertility Center

Gen5 Fertility Center is an amazing clinic that has been helping LGBTQ couples start families for 20 years. They asked us to help them get the word out about their pioneering fertility processes and their desire to help all couples, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. We provided them with fresh branding concepts, as well as custom graphics created specifically with an LGBTQ audience in mind. Gen5 is truly revolutionizing fertility care with their inclusive and passionate care model, and we feel very lucky to be a part of their story.

The Computer Admin

For The Computer Admin — an LGBTQ-owned tech support company based in San Diego —  we wanted to celebrate this year’s pride month by saluting renowned LGBTQ folks in tech. We highlighted some well-known tech pioneers, like Alan Turing and Tim Cook, while also pointing out the tech connections for LGBTQ folks’ more well-known for other endeavors. Notably Edith Windsor, central plaintiff in a pivotal marriage equality Supreme Court case, and Angelica Ross, who you probably recognize as Candy Ferocity in Pose, but who is also the founder of an organization that supports transgender people in the technology field. Celebrating these LGBTQ tech powerhouses collided the tech industry with the LGBTQ community in a way that was relevant to both The Computer Admin and to our community’s deep and vibrant history.

Stepping Stone of San Diego

Avenir has been fortunate enough to collaborate with many LGBTQ recovery programs throughout our company’s history and we are passionate about the work that these programs do within our community. Working with Stepping Stone Recovery Services, a premier LGBTQ recovery center in the nation, has been a very gratifying experience. Stepping Stone has been providing support for recovery from drug and alcohol addiction to our community for more than 40 years, and we have been honored to provide social media and email management to them since 2017. By far our favorite collaboration with Stepping Stone was producing their signature fundraising event, Living Out Loud. When the pandemic hit, LOL had to go virtual, but Avenir was still dedicated  to upholding the beautiful legacy of this event. In addition to ensuring the event went off without a hitch, we reached their fundraising goal and designed a Pride face mask to be included as part of the event gift box sent to all attendees.

San Diego Equality Business Association

One of our most recent projects is a partnership with San Diego’s LGBTQ business networking organization, San Diego Equality Business Association. SDEBA works tirelessly to ensure that LGBTQ people in business have access to the resources they need to thrive within their sector. SDEBA is also dedicated to increasing representation by expanding the presence of LGBTQ folks in the work force. We have assisted them in this quest by redesigning their branding and logo and giving their social media a fresh consistent look graphically. It has been particularly gratifying to be able to help increase the visibility of an organization that has been supporting the LGBTQ business community for so many years.

Thank you from all of us!

Thank you for joining us on this trip down memory lane! We are so proud to have built connections with such incredible LGBTQ-owned organizations and businesses — helping these organizations do the meaningful work to keep our community safe and thriving is our favorite thing about what we do! We are always eager to expand our reach and make an even greater impact within our community, so reach out to us anytime (pride or not) for help with LGBTQ marketing and communication strategies. This pride weekend, we want to commemorate all those who fought and even gave their lives for our right to live and love as we please. It is thanks to them that we are here! Remember to always stay true to yourself, and have a safe and happy Pride San Diego!
